The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka says Children and youths are the greatest asset of the Country.
The C P was speaking when he received the Children Initiative for Social Progress in his office in Jos.
He called on Children to have the fear of God in their day to day activities and self discipline for them to achieve their aims.
The CP charged the Children to have a focus in life and work towards achieving their target, noting that Nigerian youths are doing the country proud in their different endeavors outside the Country.
He advised them to keep away from bad company and resist the temptation of engaging in drug abuse as it would only destroy their lives.
National Coordinator of the NGO, Mr Patrick Ikpeme said their aim is to nurture the children into becoming future leaders of the Country.
The Children who represented various groups and individuals like Governors of Bauchi and Plataeu state, the DSS, the Commissioner of Police and wife of the Vice President called on Government to address the security situation facing the Country, corruption and the COVID 19 pandemic among others.
They expressed their support for the creation of the SWAT Unit by the Inspector General of Police and stressed the need for them to be independent, well paid and provided with the needed logistics to perform maximally.
