Catholic Diocese Of Nassarawa Gets new Bishop

A New Bishop has been installed for the Catholic Diocese of Lafia in Nasarawa State.

He is Right Reverend Monsignor David Ajang.

At the inauguration in Lafia, Pope Francis charged religious leaders to focus on preaching the gospel of love for mankind , peace and sanctity of life.

Pope Francis represented by Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Antonio Guido urged the new Bishop to shun false promises, quest for material possession and be dedicated to preaching the message of salvation.

In their goodwill messages, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state and his counterpart in Nasarawa State Abdullahi Sule said prevailing situations across the country had led to dependence on the clergy for prayers and guidance.

The new Catholic Bishop of Lafia Diocese Right Reverend Monsignor David Ajang pledged to discharge his duties as required by God for the redemption of humanity.

Twenty five Catholic Bishops from across the country including the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese , Mathew Kukah and Bishop Emeritus John Onaiyekan attended the event.
