Religious leaders and Faith Based Organizations have been urged to lead the campaign against Gender Based Violence and promote issues relating to women in the Country.
President, Christaian Association of Nigeria, CAN Reverend Olasupo Ayokunle who gave the advice at a forum to mark the sixteen days of activism against gender based violence in Abuja maintained that the Covid 19 pandemic had worsened the situation in recent times.
While calling for coordinated Government responses to the needs of women and girls in the country, Reverend Ayokunle also stressed the need for empowerment to effectively support their their families.
Reverend Ayokunle assured Nigerians that the Church would continue to enforce compliance with Covid 19 protocols.
The CAN President further reminded Government on the need to always involve religious leaders in policy making and implementation to move the Country forward.
