Bida Emirate gets new Shaba Nupe

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has installed Alhaji Manko Abdullahi Yailata has the new Shaba Nupe. 

The position of Shaba Nupe became vacant following the demise of the former holder, Alhaji Abdulmalik Ndayako.

The title which was held by the Umaru Majigi ruling house, has now been transferred to the Masaba royal family.

In a message to the event, the Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar enjoined the new Shaba to exhibit high sense of responsibility in accordance with the norms and values of the Emirate. 

He said he was chosen due to his contributions and service to the growth of the community in all ramifications. 

The new Shaba Nupe, Alhaji Manko Abdullahi Yayilata who expressed delight to have attained the position, promised to leave up to expectations.

Speaking on the development, the Magajin Rafi Nupe and Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr Abubakar Dzukogi and Ciroma Nupe Alhaji Usman Manko Babayitso expressed gratitude to God and the Etsu Nupe for elevating their brother to the second position in the royal hierarchy of Bida.

According to duo, the position of the Shaba Nupe left their ancestral home over one hundred years ago following the demise of their great grandfather, Shaba Ganabigi.

Until his new appointment, the new Shaba Nupe, Alhaji Manko Abdullahi Yayilata was the Kpotun Nupe.
