Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC of the Sokoto and Kebbi States Commands traveling for a training programme at FRSC Academy, Udi have been attacked by Bandits/Kidnappers today at Udege junction along Mararaban-Udege at about 8am .
According to a statement by the FRSC Corps Public Education Officer, Mr Bisi Kazeem, the Officers, 26 in number were travelling in two buses
The statement says one of the Officers reportedly died during the attack while another officer died in the hospital, four others were injured, 8 escaped unhurt and ten unaccounted for as they were allegedly kidnapped by the assailants.
It notes that the Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has reported the incident to relevant authorities for prompt rescue of the kidnapped staff while investigations to ensure that the assailants are brought to book is ongoing.
The statement quotes the Corps Marshal calling on all staff of the Commission not to be deterred by this unfortunate incident.
He assures that the management will work closely with relevant security agencies for release of the Staff and ensure that the criminals are brought to book and justice is served.
