Attack On Schools Is Violation Of Children’s Rights – UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF has condemned attack on  schools and called for the immediate and unconditional release of all children who are missing, and their safe return to their families.

A statement by the UNICEF Nigeria Representative Peter Hawkins says the body is deeply concerned about these reported acts of violence.

Reacting to the attack in Government Science College Kagara Niger State, Mr Hawkins said  Attacks on schools are a violation of children’s rights. 

He stressed that Children should feel safe at home and at school at all times  and parents should not need to worry for the safety of their children when they send them off to school.

He however 
acknowledge the efforts of the Government for safe return of all missing children.
