Armed Forces To Sustain Onslaught On Terrorists, Bandits And Extremist Groups

The Armed Forces says it is working with various security agencies and stakeholders to forestall the activities of Extremists groups and bandits in some parts of the country.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters Major General John Enenche stated this during a media briefing in Abuja on the achievements of the military in the past one week.

He explained that the military was putting pressure on the various extremists sects especially the Darul Salam group and their collaborators as he promised of their extinction in no distant time.

According to General Enenche, troops of operation Sahel Sanity,Wutan Daji 2 and Operation Salama arrested some suspected armed bandits, recovered arms and ammunition in the North West Zone.

The Coordinator said the military in collaboration with other security agencies had continued to sustain onslaught against insurgents as troops of Operation Lafiya Dole through support of the civilian Joint Task Force and local vigilantes eliminated several terrorists, made some arrest while others fled with various degrees of gunshot wounds.

General Enenche hinted that troops of operation Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke conducted several clearance Operations and raided bandits hideout in some Communities of Benue,Taraba, Plateau and Kaduna states and arrested some suspects as well as gun runners.

He added that troops of Operation AWATSE in the South West, Operation Delta Safe and other subsidiary Operations in the South South, destroyed illegal refining sites, recovered thousands of illegally refined petroleum products, arms and ammunition and arrested some criminals in the area.
