Armed Forces Pledges Improved Operational Strategies

The Nigerian Armed Forces says it will continue to plan, adopt and improve its operational strategies towards sustaining the war against insurgency, banditry and other criminal activities in the country.

The Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche stated this during the weekly media briefing in Abuja.

He explained that due to sustained onslaught and increased tempo of operations by troops, the military had continued to achieve more successes.

General Enenche stated that the Armed Forces would continue to change its style of operations and evolve new tactics in all its operations.

On the achievements of the Armed Forces in the North West Zone, the Coordinator said troops of operations Hadarin Daji, Accord and Sahel Sanity rescued some kidnapped victims, arrested some armed bandits, eliminated scores and recovered arms and ammunition.

He also pointed out that troops of operation Safe Haven in collaboration with personnel of the Department of State Service apprehended some suspected criminals in connection to murder cases and gun running in Kaduna and plateau states

On military operations in the North East zone, General Enenche explained that troops of the Air Component of Operation Lafiya Dole neutralized scores of terrorists and destroyed their structures and logistics base.

The Coordinator added that troops of Operation Delta Safe and its subsidiary operation Nigeria Navy Ship Delta in the South South zone recovered thousands of stolen petroleum products, discovered and deactivated illegal refining sites, storage tanks with thousands of petroleum products
