Appeal Court President Tasks Tribunal Judges On Transparency

The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, has tasked the 85 judges sworn-in to adjudicate on the Election Petition Tribunals, in the forthcoming Ondo and Edo States Governorship election, to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and transparency.

Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem stated this in her welcome address, at the opening of a training for the judges, in Abuja.

The Appeal Court President also called on stressed the need for the judges to be always dispassionate in their assignment.

President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Justice Benedict Kanyip and Justice Inyang Okoro of the Supreme Court, admonished the judges to remain disciplined, adding that they have a weighty task ahead.

The topic on day one of the training is “The concerns of the bar on the Election Petition Tribunal process” ‘Pertinent challenges in the determination of election matters and the way forward’.
