The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State has stressed the need for the establishment of State Police as a lasting solution to the incessant attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The APC Acting Caretaker Committee Chairman in the State, Mr Enoch Fanmak made the call while addressing Journalists in Jos.

He expressed worry over the activities of criminals and crises merchants in the State and emphasised the Party’s resolve to unite to enable them address those that are bent on causing disunity in the State.

The Ruling Party commended Lalong for his proactive steps in ensuring quick intervention towards ensuring that the situation does not go out of control, saying the Governor has done his best

Famwak noted that the powers of the Governor is greatly limited because of lack of direct control of the security agencies that have to receive orders from their headquarters even after the Governor gives them directives.

The party accused the opposition PDP over alleged desperate attempt to use the crisis to advance selfish and cheap political ambitions.

The APC acting Chairman in the State said the events of the past weeks and months have put Plateau State in the news for the wrong reasons and clearly an attempt to jeorpadise the achievements of the APC administration under the able leadership of Governor Simon Bako Lalong in the area of peace and security After about six years of relative peace.

Fanmak however urged security agencies to arrest all the perpetrators of the killings across the affected LGAs and ensure that they are prosecuted.
