AMLSN Solicits More Funds For Local Production Of Vaccines

The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria wants the Federal Government to re-activate human vaccines production laboratories and provide adequate funding to promote local production of vaccines.

The National President of the Association, Professor James Damen made the call during a media conference in Abuja.

Professor Damen who expressed the readiness of the Association to start the development and production of indigenous vaccines in collaboration with other stakeholders called for necessary laboratory infrastructure and funds.

The National President who also expressed deep concern over the Medical and Dental practitioners re-enactment bill currently undergoing review at the National Assembly due to some conflicting sections, urged the National Assembly to reject the bill inline with the National Industrial Court, the National Universities Commission,NUC, Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations, Joint Health Sector Union and other institutions.

Professor Damen maintained that more synergy among health professionals would help create better working environment for effective healthcare delivery.
