The Accountant General of the Federation ( AGF) , Ahmed Idris, says the Federal Government does not have the required platform of monitoring revenue inflows of the various revenue generating agencies of government .
He said the absence of monitoring platform makes it difficult for his office to effectively block various loopholes of revenue Leakages across the various revenue generating institutions.
He stated this while responding to questions from members of the Senate Committee on Finance at the Presentation of its 2021 Budget.
He said the Office was trying to work out a robust mechanism to monitor revenue inflows of the entire 300 revenue generating agencies to block all loopholes of revenue Leakages.
The Chairman Senate committee on Finance senator Solomon Olamilekan
wondered why only 60 out of the 300 revenue generating agencies , were being monitored and stressed the need for all revenue generating agencies to be adequately monitored
The lawmaker frowned at the use of a single platform for revenue collection in the country and emphasised the need for the inclusion of more formidable revenue platforms.
