African Youths have been called upon to help in the fight against drug abuse to secure the continent.

The Permanent Secretary, Service Policy and Strategy Office, Head of Service, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole made the call when he was conferred with the Pan African Leadership Prize of Excellence by the Pan African Students Movement in Abuja

He urged knowledgeable youths to lead the fight against drug abuse and addiction as majority of drug addicts are highly lettered people.

According to him, the rampant abuse of unwholesome drugs by youths was majorly responsible for the insecurity prevalent in the continent.

He commended the movement for its exchange programmes which he said would help in harnessing their creativity and ideas for the benefit of Africa.

Earlier, President of the Association, Mr. Kewul Suleh said the Organisation is a Pan Africanist Movement set up to reactivate the concept of Pan Africanism and help in campaigning against drug abuse which had eaten deep into the fabrics of Africa.

He said the movement deemed it fit to honour Dr. Meribole because of his remarkable contribution to the Public Service.

Suleh described Meribole as a leader who thinks of the upcoming generation, adding that the movement appreciates his hard work and dedication to service.
