AEPB Restates Commitment To A Clean & Befitting Capital City

Abuja Environmental Protection Board, AEPB has restated its commitment towards ensuring a clean and environmental friendly capital city.

The Director of AEPB, Doctor Hassan Abubakar stated this while speaking with newsmen after inspecting activities of contractors handling waste collection and disposal in Abuja.

Doctor Hassan Abubakar who warned the contractors against contravening terms and objectives of the waste project said AEPB would not hesitate to sanction any erring contractor.

According to him, the Board will continue to collaborate with stakeholders on ways of making Abuja a world class capital city Worthy of emulation.

He therefore solicited the support of residents in keeping their surroundings clean at all times to avoid outbreak of diseases.

The Director stated that plans are underway to review the Act establishing the AEPB for optimal performance.

Doctor Hassan Abubakar added that the Act when reviewed would also proffer solutionz to some of the challenges encountered by the Board most especially in the area of fines and sanctions melted on those contravening its regulations in the FCT.
