Adhere To Ethics Of Journalism, Senate President Tells Press Corp

The president of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan has called on Journalists to adhere to the ethics of the profession for objective reportage .
Senator Lawan who was represented by the Chairman, Senate committee on media and public affairs, Senator Basiru Ajibola made the call at the 2020 Senate press corps retreat in Lokoja, Kogi State .
He emphasised the need for collaboration between the Media and the Legislature for effective and balanced reportage

The lawmaker stressed the importance of capacity building among media practitioners to enable them discharge their responsibilities in the interest of the society.

On his part the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahya Bello, represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja noted that the media has critical role of exposing societal ills for the betterment of all and sundry .
He added that for any society to develop it must have a vibrant media to expose corruption in all ramifications
