A Humanitarian Activist, Doctor Solomon Uchenna Winning has called on Federal and State Governments to embark on more youth empowerment programmes to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.
Doctor Uchenna Winning who made the call during a virtual forum expressed concern over the rate of job loses and crimes in the country due to COVID 19 pandemic.
He said a lot needed to be done to make Nigerian youths self reliant through employment creation and skills acquisition.
According to him, Nigeria is blessed with human and abundant human resources needed to empower her citizens towards national and economic development.
The Humanitarian Activist also stressed the need for Government at all levels to step up action on women empowerment programmes for progress of the country.
“If you train and empower a woman, you empower an entire community, therefore, it is important for Government to pay attention to women empowerment for the good of the society” he stated.
Doctor Uchenna Winning also advised Nigerian youths to always engage in positive ventures that would enable them contribute to national development.
While describing youths as the strength of any nation, the Humanitarian Activist reiterated his commitment to programmes that would compliment Government’s efforts aimed at making Nigerian youths patriotic and responsible citizens of the country.
