The Federal Government has been urged to strengthen its Public- Private Partnership Scheme towards addressing over Twenty Million Housing Deficit in the country.
Vice President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Sonadina Anene who gave the advice while addressing newsmen in Abuja said Harmonization and Articulation of Policies would provide a veritable platform for the Private Sector to participate in the on going Federal Government’s Urbanisation and rural renewal Programs.
Dr. Anene while enumerating some of the challenges facing the construction sector in the country to include multiple taxation, high cost of production, insufficient local materials, unskilled workers and poor infrastructure said the organisation would bring stakeholders together to profer solutions to the challenges.
According to Dr Anene, real estate and the construction sector will also complement Government’s efforts in addressing unemployment and revamping the nation’s economy.
The Vice President however appealed to Stakeholders to come up with new initiatives towards making housing available and affordable for ordinary citizens.
