The Secretary of Kpaduma Community in the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Simon Yerima has called for more members to represent FCT in the Senate and House of Representatives.
Mr Yerima made the call while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.
Mr Yerima who is also one of the Leaders of the Abuja Original Indigenous Development Association, OIDA, described as unacceptable the abuse of the constitutional provision in the status of Administrative and political structure of the FCT by past and present Administrations.
According to him, the development has been hindering rapid development most especially at the grassroots in the FCT.
The Secretary of Kpaduma Community who explained that the FCT Indigenes had ben marginalized over the years stressed the need for the appointment of an Indigene as Minister of FCT to further bring governance closer to people.
He also called for more proactive measures that would fast track development in the Satellite towns of the FCT.
While advising the residents to always support Government’s developmental programmes, Mr Yerima said a lot needed to be done in the provision of dividends of democracy to rural dwellers in the FCT.
