The Action Alliance, AA has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to take over the conduct of Local Government election.
The National Chairman of AA, Chief Adekunle Omo-Aje made the call while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.
Chief Adekunle Omo-Aje said the call became necessary to ensure transparency and credibility in the conduct of Local Government election.
According to him, the situation has become so embarrassing that opposition political parties have developed lethargy towards participating in the elections.
On state of the nation, Chief Adekunle Omo-Aje also called on the Federal Government to redouble efforts in the protection of lives and property of Nigerians through proactive measures in combating banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, boko haram and other forms of insecurity confronting the country.
The National Chairman of AA stressed the need for the Federal Government to direct efforts towards ensuring a vibrant economy for Nigeria and make the country one of the Industrial hubs not only in Africa but the world at large.
Chief Adekunle Omo-Aje used the opportunity to announce that Action Alliance has no faction within its ranks as he remains the National Chairman of the party.
He said the party was committed to programnes that would ensure national economic development of the country.
The National Chairman of AA said the party would continue to increase youth and women inclusiveness in its leadership and political activities in line with the demands of the nation’s electoral Act
He therefore solicited the support of members of the party towards realizing its arms and objectives.
