The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has been urged to adhere strictly to court judgements for the interest of the nation’s electoral system.
The Director General of a civil society organization Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizens Awareness Dr Gabriel Nwambu gave the advice while briefing newsmen in Abuja.
Dr Nwambu while citing the Supreme court ruling on the Leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA and other election related matters said it was imperative for INEC to reassure the public of its ability to conduct a free, fair and credible election.
According to Dr Nwambu, a retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice Mary Peter-Odili had written to clarify that Chief Edozie Njoku is the National Chairman of APGA.
While expressing the confidence that the technological innovations by INEC would reduce most of the electoral fraud in the past, Dr Nwambu called for support for successful polls.
The Director General urged Nigerians to participate actively, defend their votes as their votes would count.
