IYL Adopts New Name, Anwaru-I- Hudu League

Anwaru-I-Hudu League of Nigeria has been unveiled as the new name for Islamic Youth League of Nigeria.

The new name of the Association was unveiled in Abuja by the National President of the Association, Alhaji Rasak Jimoh.

The unveiling of Anwaru-I-Hudu League of Nigeria from the former name Islamic Youth League of Nigeria brought to an end years of agitations from members to make it an all inclusive association.

The National president Anwaru-I-Hudu League of Nigeria Alhaji Rasak Jimoh explained that the association was founded in 1952 to propagate the Islamic tenets, teaching and understanding of the Qu’ran, promote peaceful coexistence, establish educational institutions among other objectives.

According to him, the decision to change the name of the association followed years of agitations and recommendations of the former executive of the association and was adopted after putting the decision into voting.

Alhaji Jimoh who stated that the association had engaged members on the need to support efforts for a free, fair and credible general election, urged all political actors to play the game by the rules.

Speaking on the significance of the new prayer book by the association, the Deputy Chief Imam, Ustaz Abduljalil Kelani said to meet the needs of the Muslim community, the association deemed it fit to introduce a new prayer book to build the spiritual lives of members.

He advised members and other Muslim faithful to always live their lives according to Islamic teachings.

The Chairman of the Abuja branch of the association Abdulhakeem Smith while calling on Nigerians to elect leaders with the fear of God pointed out that a committee was constituted to produce soft copies of the new prayer book.

Highpoint of the the event was the launching of the new prayer book.
