NAHCON Pledges Improved Service Delivery To Pilgrims

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, and stakeholders have pledged more collaboration to ensure improved service delivery to Nigerian Pilgrims.

The stakeholders which includes, States Pilgrim Welfare Boards, Private Hajj and Umrah companies, said that as stakeholders, they have the responsibility to make sure Nigerian Pilgrims have value for money during the forthcoming Hajj.

According to a statement signed by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publications, Alh Mousa Ubandawaki the stakeholders agreed to re dedicate themselves to achieving greater success in the 2023 Hajj, especially in the area of improved services and well being of the pilgrims.

The statement further explains that the Chairman of NAHCON, Alh Zikrullah Kunle Hassan at a meeting with stakeholders at the commission’s office in Makkah Saudi Arabia appeals for support of stakeholders to justify the ninety five thousand allocation to the country through efficient management system and improved service delivery.

The statement notes that the Consul – General of the Nigerian Consulate in Jeddah, Ambassador Mansur Abdulkareem, emphasises the importance of pilgrims education and enlightenment and urges State pilgrims welfare boards to give priority to pilgrims education.

The Executive Secretary of Niger State Pilgrim Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Makun said the decision taken is a demonstration of the unity between NAHCON and the States as he acknowledged the need for stakeholders to close ranks for the benefit of pilgrims.

The meeting had in attendance the Commissioners in charge of Policy Personnel Management and Finance, Alh Nura Hassan Yakassai, Operations Licensing and Inspectorate, Alh Abdullah Magaji Hardawa and Planning Research Statistics Information and Library Services, Sheikh Suleman Momoh, board members as well as the leadership of the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operations of Nigeria.
