The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, has received an award of five hundred million naira security sector support grant from the Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative for Africa in recognition of the numerous successes recorded by the Service.
A statement by the NIS Public Relations officer, Deputy Controller Tony Akuneme says the Comptroller General, Isah Jere Idris while receiving the award in his office in Abuja commends the chairman, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu owner of BUA group of companies for the initiative and also for recognizing the strides of the service.
According to the statement, the NIS boss restates the service’s commitment to a better Nigeria as well as the global security and gave assurance that the grant will be effectively utilized.
The managing Director of the initiative, Mr Ubon Udoh who led the delegation to NIS headquarters says the ASR Africa security sector support grant scheme is an intervention initiative targeted at sustainably impactful intervention in security and social development in Africa.
He notes that the Grant is part of efforts of the chairman BUA group of companies to give back to the African continent and make lasting impact in peace and security to uplift and restore lives of Africans.
