NACA Redoubles Efforts In Fight Against HIV/AIDS

National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, is to redouble its efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the country.

Deputy Director Preventive and Social Behavioural Change Communication of the Agency, Dr Daniel Nduka stated this in Abuja at a forum to Mark international day for HIV and AIDS.

The furum was organized to brainstorm on how to further combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in the country.

Speaking at the forum, the Deputy Director Preventive and Social Behavioral Change Communication of NACA, Dr Daniel Nduka said the Agency would involve adolescents in its sensitization campaign against the spread of the disease

Dr Nduka therefore called for the support of stakeholders towards combating HIV AIDS in the country.

In a remark, the country director, Aids Health Foundation, Dr Echey Ijezie who commended the Federal Government and relevant stakeholders for playing significant roles on Health issues noted that it is important to tackle the issue of inequality, gender mainstreamming in addressing HIV and AIDS related issues.

Earlier, the Health Manager, UNICEF, Dr Victoria Isiramen emphasized the need to focus on young people as a key strategy to addressing key issues that affects their health.

Other speakers at the forum advised government at all levels to always give priority to programmes that would improve health care delivery in the country.
