Zamfara : Police Rescue 6 Women, Baby

Zamfara State Police Command has successfully secured the release of Six Women and a one year old child abducted by bandits terrorising Kadamutsa village of Zurmi local government area of the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, Yusuf Kolo made this known in a statement signed in Gusau by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu.

It states that the Police Tactical Operatives and the Vigilante based on intelligence gathering, mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along the Zurmi – Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt.

According to the statement, the victims were taken to the hospital for medical check, debriefed by the Police detectives and handed over their families.

It says the Commissioner of Police, while commending the Police operatives and vigilante for the successful rescue operation, also congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom, and reiterates the Command’s determination to rid the state of criminal activities.

The statement also appeals to the general public to always report any suspicious movement to security agencies for prompt action.
