Public office holders Military and para-military personnel have been advised to engage in regular exercise and other sporting activities for Optimal performance.
The Retired Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC Dr Boboye Oyeyemi gave the advice during a retirement golf kitty in Abuja.
The Retired Corps Marshall explained that golf and other sporting activities would enhance the wellness and health of personnel in the discharge of their duties.
He said with the Legacy he left, golf enthusiasts from the Corps would increase as he maintained personnel needed the zeal and passion to sustain the standard.
In a remark, the President of the Nigerian Golf Federation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe was of the view that Dr Oyeyemi deserved the honour owing to his achievements.
According to him the game of golf is meant for all strata of the society.
On his part, the Captain of Tukur Yusuf Buratai International Golf and Country Club Brigadier General Mohammed Bello described Oyeyemi as a great achiever who contributed a lot to FRSC and the game of golf in the country.
General Bello stated that it was during the tenure of Dr Oyeyemi that membership of the club from personnel of the corps increased.
The Acting Corps Marshall of FRSC, Dauda Ali-Biu who was represented by the Deputy Corps Marshall Operations, Mr Kayode Fanola pointed that golf is mostly appreciated by people of advanced age.
He believed Dr Oyeyemi has a lot to offer Nigeria even after retirement.
Dr Boboye Oyeyemi retired from active service as the Corps Marshall FRSC in July this year.
