The Nigeria Armed Forces says its Troops in various theatre of operations across the six geopolitical zones of the country have rescued 130 civilians, neutralized thirty six terrorists, and arrested 46 suspected Boko Haram Terrorists as well as 12 suspected Islamic State of West Africa Province(ISWAP) logistic suppliers.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami stated this while addressing newsmen at the bi-weekly briefing
on the operational activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
According to him, a total of 368 suspected Boko Haram Terrorists/Islamic State of West Africa Province criminals and their families comprising of 53 adult males, 116 adult females and 214 children also surrendered to troops at different locations in the last two weeks.
He added that Troops of Operation HADIN KAI theatre of operation have continued to
conduct fighting patrols, ambushes and clearance operations at different communities, villages and towns in Kukawa, Monguno, Kaga, Dikwa, Biu, Damboa, Gwoza, Mafa, Konguda, Bama and Guzamala Local Government Areas in Borno State in order to sustain aggressive operations to win the fight against insurgency in the area.
General Danmadami further explained that
troops in the south west zone in collaboration with Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA raided a suspected drug baron’s residence in Ikorodu Area of Lagos State and recovered substance suspected to be cocaine worth over 190 billion naira.
He added that four drug barons were arrested along side a foreign nationale.
The military high command while commending efforts of Nigerian troops in the various theatres of operation across the Country, urged the general public to continue to provide prompt and creditable information on the activities of enemies of the nation.
