The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has called on Transport Unions and owners of Articulated Vehicles to embark on regular Medical Test to ascertain health status of their drivers.
Acting Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali-Biu made the call while receiving in Abuja the leadership of the National Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO
The Acting Corps Marshal maintained that regular health check and training would improve the efficiency of drivers on the road.
According to him, building the capacity of members and keeping to minimum Standards will protect their investments and ensure the safety of all road users in the country.
Dauda Ali-Biu commended NARTO for its contributions to the Economic Growth of the nation and urged members to support FRSC’s initiatives towards making roads safer.
He assured that the Commission would continue to make its door open for initiatives that would Strengthen working relationship of the two organizations.
President National Association of Road Transport Owners, Alhaji Yusuf Utman said the visit to the FRSC headquarters was to seek more collaboration on reducing road accidents involving articulated and other vehicles in the country.
Alhaji Yusuf Utman said leadership of the Union at the state and local government chapters had been directed to have regular interface with FRSC at the Sector and Unit Commands For mutual cooperation.
