Awute Bags Personality Of The Year Award

A Retired Federal Permanent Secretary, Mr Linus Awute has called for reforms of the civil service for effective service delivery and national development.

He made the call in Abuja while receiving an award of Living Hero of Humanitarian Services and Distinguished Personality of The Year 2022 presented to him by Life Value Awareness and Leadership Secured Initiative.

Mr Awute who is the Chairman and CEO of Linus Awute Foundation attributed the slow pace of the country’s development to unnecessary bereaucracy and low productivity in the nation’s workforce.

While dedicating the award to the Civil Service, the Former Permanent Secretary also decried the undue interference of politicians in the day to day activities of civil service thereby compromising service delivery.

Mr Awute stressed the need for regular training and retraining of civil servants towards realizing national development.

According to him, the award will further encourage him to contribute to humanitarian services through his Foundation and wealth of experience from the civil service towards repositioning the country for greatness.

Earlier, the President of Life Value Awareness and Leadership Secured Initiative, Ambassador Oladipo Musibau said the award was in recognition of the contributions of Mr Linus Awute to humanity, society and the country in general.

He stated that Mr Awute’s quality leadership while in service in the Ministries of Mines and Steel Development, Industry, Trade and Investment as well as Health were worthy of commendation.

Ambassador Musibau therefore enjoined other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the kind gesture and humanitarian services of Mr Awute to further ensure the betterment of the society.

Some Chieftaincy Title Holders from Rivers State who spoke at the ceremony described Mr Linus Awute as a worthy son and Ambassador of the State.

The award ceremony was also attended by top dignitaries from the public and private sector.
