FRSC Deploys About 2000 Personnel For Special Sallah Operation

The FCT Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has deployed about two thousand regular and special marshals for effective traffic control during the Sallah celebration in the territory.

The Sector Commander, Ogah Ochi who stated this while addressing Newsmen in Abuja said adequate logistics have also been mobilized for prompt removal of any obstruction on all major and high volume traffic areas.

He noted that all Unit Commanders have been directed to increase their visibility on the highways while special attention must be given to the Four entry and exit points in the federal capital territory.

According to him, a Special team will be operating along Zuba – Gwagwalada – Lokoja Highway till late in the night to ensure free flow of traffic.

He solicited the support of road users and urged them to be patient particularly on roads leading to eid praying grounds and Recreational Centers.

The FCT Sector Commander stressed the need for motorists particularly commercial drivers to abide by traffic rules as mobile courts would be in session to prosecute traffic offenders during the Sallah festivity.

Mr Ochi however emphasized that should there be emergencies, motorists and commuters can call the FRSC Toll Free Number, 122 for prompt action.
