A Presidential Aspirant under the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC. Mr. Chukwuka Monye says there is need for government at all levels to include and encourage more women participation in governance to guarantee massive economic development in the country.
Mr. Monye stated this while answering questions from newsmen after picking his Presidential form at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
He said the country had lived in stereotypes of male domination for too long hence it has become imperative to change the narratives by increasing the number of women in governance.
According to him, the nation’s infrastructural development could not be sustained without economic development, adding that women are the bedrock of economic prospects and growth in any society.
“The world is moving forward, I resigned and handover a company I built over twenty years to a woman because she is competent, some of the strongest leaders of global economies today are women and some of the prosperous nations in the world are run by women” Monye added.
He stressed that the time has come to tap into the inner energy of women as a nation to help to stimulate the economy and give the society a strong economic base.
On the insecurity challenges bedeviling the nation, Monye noted that to curb the menace the youths must be employed and engaged to enable them showcase their talents.
“One of the most contentious issues needing urgent attention in Nigeria today is how to address the current pace of youth restiveness which is fast becoming a national albatross” he stressed
The ADC Presidential hopeful stressed that for any nation to record meaningful development her security, education, health and technology must be given priority.
Mr. Monye who stated that Nigerians are problem solvers to many countries and yet can’t solve their own challenges added that all Nigeria needs is visionary leaders who will build the nation.
On her part, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the party, Senator Patricia Akwashiki said the time has come for youths to brace up for leadership to reposition the nation.
Earlier, the Chairman of ADC, Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu added that the party focused on youths because it believes in the younger generation to fix the country.
