The Special Adviser to the President on Media, Mr Femi Adesina has called on Nigerians to team up with the present administration in finding lasting solution to the challenges in the country.
Speaking at a forum on Vanguard For Transparent Leadership and Democracy, Mr. Femi Adesina said it is the responsibility of all citizens to work together for peace and national development.
The Presidential Spokesman maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari would continue to provide good leadership and not relent in rising to the challenge of insecurity and other challenges in the country.
A member of the House of representatives Mr Kingsley Chinda advocated capital punishment for any public official caught in corrupt practices towards en trenching good governance.
According to him, the level of corruption in the country is alarming hence the need to adopt this measure.
Mr Chinda however called on Nigerians to wake up and ensure that only credible leaders emerge in the next general election.
He appealed to Mr President to assent to the Electoral Amendment Bill to save the nation’s democracy.
The Convener of the forum Mr Emmanuel Igbini who said the present administration had put the country on the right track, expressed hope that the country would remain united and experience rapid growth.
Mr Igbini also stressed the need for the national assembly to work together with the executive to strengthen democratic governance.
