NPFL: Plateau United Floor 3SC; Secure Top Spot, Akwa Beat Remo Stars Away

Plateau United moved to the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League following a 3-1 win against 3SC in their matchday 13 encounter at the New Jos Stadium on Wednesday, reports Completesports.com.

The hosts took the lead through Mohammed Zulkifilu in the eighth minute, while Oluwaseyi Okeowo equalised for 3SC three minutes before the break.

Plateau United regained the lead in the 70th minute courtesy of Albert Hilary’s fine strike, with Silas Nenrot adding the third from the spot four minutes later.

Champions Akwa United recorded the only away win of the day, edging out Remo Stars 1-0 in Ikenne.

David Onovo scored the decisive goal two minutes before the half hour mark.

In Ilorin, Kwara United pip Enyimba 1-0 with Alao Danbani firing home in the 17th minute.

MFM boosted their survival hopes courtesy of a hard-fought 1-0 win against Katsina United at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The home team solitary strike came from Tunde Azeez nine minutes from time.

At the Pantami Stadium, Wikki Tourists rallied back from a goal down to beat Kano Pillars 2-1.

Gabriel Jeremiah opened scoring for the visitors in the 15th minute.
