Religious Institutions have been urged to initiate social welfare programs to complement the spiritual growth of their members.
The Founder of God’s City International Church Pastor Mathew Morakinyo who gave the advise while speaking with news men in Abuja expressed concern over the high level of poverty and social vices in the country.
Pastor Morakinyo who decried the high moral decadence and restiveness among youths said religious institutions needed to do more to complement efforts of the Federal Government at addressing the current economic situation.
According to him, the high number of unemployed youths poses a threat to national peace and development.
Dr Morakinyo however sought prayers from Nigerians irrespective of tribe, political and religious affiliations to seek divine intervention to the spate of insecurity and for good leaders to emerge in Twenty Twenty Three.
The Spiritual Leader stressed that his Power Touch Program would continue to impact positively on Nigerians.
