The adhoc committee set up by the House of Representatives to ascertain the actual volume of fuel consumed daily in the country has held it’s innaugural meeting at the National Assembly.
The Chairman, Abdulkadir Abdullahi, stated that the committee was mandated to investigate the actual daily consumption of premium motor spirit (PMS) in Nigeria
He explained that the Committee would not restrict its findings to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC records alone, but liaise with experts in the industry, transport workers and all other stakeholders to determine an independent finding for the benefit of Nigerians.
The Lawmaker added that the meeting was convened to set an agenda for the Committee to enable it deliver on it’s mandate.
The committee which comprises of sixteen members is expected to report back to the house within 8weeks for further legislative action.
