Reps Order FCTA To Erect Directional Road Signs

The House of Representatives has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to order the erection of signage and directional road signs across the Federal Capital Territory.

This is the resolution of a motion titled need to provide adequate signage and directional signs in the Federal capital territory sponsored by Kolawole Taiwo from Lagos State at plenary.

Leading the debate, the lawmaker expressed concern over the inadequate signage and directional signs on some major roads in the Federal
Capital Territory, which he said had caused several accidents which could have been prevented

In his submission the deputy minority leader, Toby Okechukwu who decried the deplorable state of infrastructure in the territory stressed the need for the minister to ensure that adequate infrastructure is provided in the territory.

Amending the Prayers to the motion the lawmakers urged the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to erect same on all federal roads across the country.

Ruling, the speaker Femi Gbajabiamila who presided over plenary mandated the house Committee on Federal Capital Territory to ensure compliance.
