The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Mr. Olusade Adesola has called for more support for women in order to drive the economic development of the nation.
Mr. Adesola made the call in Abuja while receiving the President of Women Agro Processors, Agric Gen and Exporters Initiative, Mrs. Esther Adebayo.
Mr Adesola described women as very enterprising, and making positive and invaluable contributions in their various communities
The Permanent Secretary commended the President of Women Agro Processors, Agric Gen and Exporters Initiative for stepping up advocacy to address the issue of rejection of Nigeria’s products at the international market.
He also stressed the need for regulatory Agencies to maintain high ethical standard as part of precautionary measures to guard against rejection of the country’s goods outside the shores of Nigeria.
Earlier, the President of Women Agro Processors, Agric Gen and Exporters Initiative, Mrs. Esther Adebayo appealed to the National Assembly to carry out a constitutional amendment that would compel the 36 States of the Federation to have agro processing factories.
Mrs. Adebayo also hinted that part of the mission of the Association include; fostering debate and exchange of ideas, between the Federal Government, Regulatory Agencies, relevant stakeholders and exporters towards making Nigeria’s products gain international relevance.
