The former Director General of the Progressive Governor’s Forum, PGF Dr. Salihu Lukman has described his resignation as Director General of the Forum as a sacrifice to ensure that the current leadership conduct the national convention of the party as soon as possible and uphold the Integrity of the party.
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmem in Abuja by Dr Lukman.
The former DG who condemned the manner the leadership of the party pilots its affairs said if not checked it will affect the performance of the party as the 2023 general election approaches.
According to the statement, his resignation letter has been summited to the chairman of the Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu awaiting acceptance.
It also says that the campaign to return APC to the vision of the founding fathers is to build the party on democratic and social principles as contained on the Constitution of the APC.
The statement commends President Buhari for disagreeing with what was going on in the party and his support on the campaign to reform the party, which led to the institution of the current caretaker committee to address issues.
It however, commends party members, newsmen, colleagues and friends for their support through out his tenure as the Director General of the Progressive Governor’s Forum.
