The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has interacted with the Chinese contractors handling the AYA-Kugbo-Nyanya Road project on the need to avoid unnecessary traffic gridlock while executing the project.
The interaction with the contractors became necessary following a horrific gridlock that hindered movement for hours due to an emergency diversion created by contractors working on the road without proper communication.
The Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to FCT Minister, Comrade Ikharo Attah who led heads of traffic management agencies to the construction site, said decisions on traffic along that road, should not be impromptu, as it could cripple socio-economic activities.
Attah while urging the construction engineers to synergize with relevant traffic management agencies, noted that early and proper communication can save commuters of the excruciating traffic pains.
According to him, FCTA had demonstrated commitment and support to the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing over the road project, and would do more to ensure its completion.
Comrade Attah also used the medium to appreciate the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Nyanya unit Commander, Sabena Musa and her men for their efforts in controlling the traffic at the early hours of Thursday, 7th January 2022.
