Residents Of BAC Raise Alarm Over Epileptic Services In PHCCs

Healthcare is one of the basic requirements for human existence.

Having adequate health facilities especially in Primary Healthcare centres in rural areas is therefore a necessity as it is one of the basic social amenities that speaks of the impact of government on the lives of people at the grassroots.

Yearly, budgetary provisions are made for all sectors of the country, health inclusive.

Findings indicate that many primary healthcare centres are confronted with many challenges ranging from manpower, dilapidated structures and lack of drugs

Some of the PHCCs in some communities in Bwari Area Council like Chikakuri, Cuchiguyi, Gawu, Gaba, Igu Dakwa, Gigo among others exposed some of the challenges encountered by residents in accessing quality health care.

Some of the residents who spoke with Correspondent Ifeanyi Osita expressed concern over the state of health facilities in the communities and appealed to relevant authorities to look into the situation.

A Chieftain of the APC in the Area, Mr Haruna Shekwolo said due to inadequate facilities, residents from most rural communities travel long distances to access basic healthcare.

Some health personnel in the PHCCs appealed for more facilities to meet the health needs of the teeming population at the grassroots.

When contacted, the Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Mr John Gabaya however said that the facilities are in good condition and providing basic healthcare services to residents but
promised to continue to provide devidends of democracy to the people of the area.
