The Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory on Youths Matters, Isaac David has sympathised with victims of a fire incident that occurred at an Abuja shopping mall, Next Cash & Carry.
In a statement in Abuja, Mr David appealed to public-spirited individuals to support in providing succour to the victims.
‘I want to join the Minister to commiserate with the owners of the supper market and others that were affected over the monumental loss of property that happened today” He said
The FCT Minister’s Aid who expressed concern about the level of damage caused by the fire incident, called on business owners to take precaution on fire management in their environment.
On the non-functional fire fighting equipment in parts of the territory, the Minister’s Aid described the fire disaster as a wakeup call for government to strengthen the operational capacity of fire fighters for efficient and effective service delivery.
‘With the huge loss that occurred here; it has come as a wakeup call to all fire managers.The Fire Service is not working in tandem with my vision for the FCT Administration, but it is time for them to take proactive measures to overcome the challenges” Mr David added
