The Military High Command says troops have continued to maintain their operational tempos in all the theatres of operations to frustrate terrorists, bandits, economic saboteurs and other criminals.
The Acting Director Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko stated this during the biweekly News Conference in Abuja.
General Onyeuko explained that the enhanced support from the Chief of Defence Staff and other Service Chiefs led to the successes recorded with the elimination and arrest of scores of terrorists and bandits as well as recovery of arms and ammunition.
He noted that with the last two weeks, troops of Operations Hadin Kai, Hadarin Daji, Safe Haven, Whirl Stroke, Whirl Punch and Thunder Strike neutralized no fewer than one hundred terrorists and bandits, arrested over seventy of the criminals and rescued some kidnapped victims.
The Acting Director stated that troops of Operation Delta Safe discovered and deactivated some illegal refining sites and recovered thousands of litres of illegally refined petroleum products.
General Onyeuko solicited more cooperation from the public to achieve more as he urged troops to sustain operational engagement to rid the country of all forms of criminality.
