A group known as the Yoruba Appraisal Forum, AYF, has called on Nigerian youths to embrace peace and shun acts capable of disintegrating Nigeria as the 2023 general election approaches.
This is contained in a statement in Abuja by the National Coordinator of the Forum, Mr Adesina Animashaun.
According to the statement Nigerian youths should always kick against violence and agitation that can lead to secession for the country to remain one indivisible entity.
The statement also urges youths to avoid bridging the existing peace and unity in the country as any person agitating for secession doesn’t have the interest of the nation at heart and remains unpatriotic.
It also commends the nation’s security agencies, traditional rulers of the south west region as well as leaders of thought in Nigeria and the international community for ensuring that supreme peace reigns in the south west geopolitical zone and the entire country.
The statement which congratulates Nigerians on this year’s Christmas and New year celebration equally commends Nigerian citizens for efforts to sustain peaceful coexistence in spite of the security challenges confronting the country.
