Old school days come with memories one will want to relive.
This was the situation when old students of the St Itas Girls Grammar School Sapele, SIOGA, gathered to reconnect and celebrate life.
It was absolute fun as some old students of the school based in Abuja celebrated this year’s Christmas party in a grand style.
In her opening remarks, the Chairperson St itas old girls Association Abuja chapter, Mrs Cecilia Saduwa Isibor described Christmas as a season for showing kindness through gifts to friends and especially the less fortunate and needy in the society.
Mrs Isibor who charged the old students not to concentrate on themselves alone but also remember to express the love that comes with Christmas by donating to the poor and pursue peace, which Jesus Christ preached when He was on earth as Jesus is the reason for the season.
She appealed to the old girls to contribute to all ongoing projects in the school by paying their levies for the upliftment of the school.
On her part, the Chairman of the Welfare Committee of SIOGA Abuja chapter, Mrs Rita Koguonye Nwoko said it was a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord for his goodness and love.
“We thank God for bringing us to the end of this year; also, for the fact that last year, we could not gather physically, it means therefore that now we are overcoming the fight against COVID 19.
Highlights of the occasion was a dancing Competition by the old students, their kids and a presentation depicting the birth of the Lord Jesus and the meaning of the Season.
There were also games for the children, while the adults amused themselves with stories down memory lane.
The occasion was fun-filled and colourful as it created an avenue for the old girls, their husbands and kids to interact and bond together hence there was s family game between parents and kids to show how much they know each other.
The aim is to create a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, where all can have fun and unwind.
This is the first time the old Students of the St itas Girls Grammar School Sapele, Abuja Chapter is organizing a Christmas and end of the year party.
