The Coordinator of a Non-Governmental Organisation ‘Be Inspired Nigeria’ Akwa Ibom State chapter, Imo Asuquo has assured leprosy patients of support.
He stated this when he led members of the organisation to visit leprosy patients at the State leprosy Hospital, Etinan Local Government Area, assuring them that they were not alone in their travails.
She said that the organization is always standing behind them and praying for them.
We came especially from Be Inspired Nigeria’ in conjunction with Touch of Love Outreach, all the way from Lagos and we choose this group, this particular place to come and share this token we have for you during this period.
It might not be enough but we could have gone elsewhere because people like going to orphanage homes, but we just decided within us to come here for the people of Akwa Ibom to have a sense of belonging that despite everything, that we love you, we share in your pains, we want to tell you that we know what you are going through and we believe that this token will be beneficial to you,” she said.
Secretary of the hospital, Elder Frank Udoh, who received the items on behalf of the hospital management lauded the group for the initiative and prayed God to continue to sustain them.
Items presented to the hospital iclude foodstuffs, detergents and other gifts to over 200 leprosy patients.
