Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has called for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
She stated this when she led the Ambassadors of Voice for Change on a road show along major streets of Abuja.
The minister who was in company of her immediate family members and some key Nollywood actors during the road show stressed that the unity of Nigeria was not negotiable.
Popular Nollywood actors that joined in the road show include John Ikechukwu Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu, Zack Orji, Benedict Johnson, Saheed Balogun, Chiege Alisigwe and popular Afro Beat Star, Sir Shina Peter amongst others.
She added that it was the duty of every Nigerian to join the peace campaign.
Aliyu also assured that the peace campaign would be taken to the 36 states of the federation to promote peace among other youths in major cities.
Her words; “… we need to remind ourselves that though tribes and tongues may differ, in brotherhood we stand. No matter our divergent views, no matter our faith, gender, tribe, we must be able to tell ourselves that united we are stronger… I have spoken to my own daughters to stand with me and they are all here to say united we are stronger”.
Dr Aliyu therefore, called on youths to fight for the emancipation of Nigeria and for the country to regain its rightful place among the comity of nations
Earlier, the Mandate Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat, Hajia Hadiza Mohammed Kabir, who lauded the initiative, commended the Ambassadors for Peace and stressed the importance of peace in nation building.
