HYPPADEC To Curb Effects Of Hydroelectric Dams In Host Communities

The Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission, HYPPADEC is to partner with the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading, NBET, in addressing some grey areas as it affects remittances of revenue to the commission.

This is contained in a statement signed by Head, Press and Public Affairs, HYPPADEC, Nura Tanko Wakili in Abuja.

The statement describes NBET as a critical stakeholder whose role cannot be overemphasized in the commission’s drive to deliver on its mandate.

According to the statement the Managing Director of HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa reiterates the commission’s readiness to work with relevant agencies in improving the living standard of communities affected by the operations of Hydroelectric Dams.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading, NBET, Dr. Nnaemeka Ewelukwa says NBET and HYPPADEC are sister agencies that will work together to deliver on their respective mandates.

It says NBET appreciates the responsibilities placed on HYPPADEC which has a direct bearing on the Hydroelectric Dams in host communities.
