The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Saddiya Umar-Farouk has Inaugurated a national data processing centre, a mini Braille centre and two other projects to enhance the activities of National Commission for Persons with Disabilities
At the Inauguration at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, Hajiya Saddiya said the projects were inline with president Muhammadu Buhari’s vision for inclusion for persons with disabilities
While commending the giant strides by the commission the minister stated that the ministry was working with the Head of Service for a waiver on employment of persons with disabilities into the commission.
The Executive Secretary of the commission Mr James Lalu who commended President Buhari for being disability friendly, explained that the projects were targeted at creating access for the disability community.
The former Governor of Nasarawa state Tanko Almakura, a Chieftain of the APC Senator Osita Izunaso, the Chairman board of the Commission, Alhaji Hussaini Kangiwa and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
