NAWOJ Congratulates New FCT NUJ Executive

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, FCT Chapter, congratulates new executive of the NUJ FCT Council led by Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche.

The Chapter in a statement by the Chairperson, Comrade Annah Daniel, and the Secretary, Nkeiru Nnoli Okeke describes inclusion of more women in the executive as a welcomed development that will promote women participation in governance.

According to the statement the elected female officers include Aishatu Ali Kadala of the Aso Radio and TV Chapel, who returned for a second term as Treasurer; Dorcas Jonah of the News Agency of Nigeria Chapel as Assitant Secretary; and Gloria Essien of the Voice Of Nigeria Chapel, Financial Secretary.

The statement notes that Comrade Ogbeche’s reelection is well deserved based on his achievements in the last three years.

It also describes his victory at the election as a testament of his commitment in repositioning the union and expressed hope that he will consolidate on his achievements.

In the statement, NAWOJ pledges to build a formidable force with the new executive to take the union to greater heights.
