New FCT ACSS Mandate Sec Promises To Promote Ties Among FCT Chiefdoms

Mandate Secretary for FCT Area Council Services Secretariat, ACSS, Mr Ibrahim Abubakar Dantsoho has promised to promote harmonious ties among the Councils Chairmen and all the FCT Chiefdoms.

The new ACSS Secretary gave this assurance during a familiarisation meeting with members of the FCT Minister’s Press Corps in Abuja.

Mr Dantsoho who pointed out that there can be no meaningful development in an atmosphere of choas and sentiments, said he would used his wealth of experience to deepen peaceful coexistence across the six Area councils with a view to permanently resolve lingering chieftaincy crisis.

On agenda setting, Mr Dantsoho said part of his plan is to commence familiarisation and sensitisation tour of Chiefdoms and the people at the grassroots on the significance of peace in nation building.

Where there are pending issues, with my experience and contact with them, we should be able to avoid any spring up of attacks within our communities…We are here to do what’s expected of us and the Chiefs have assured me of their maximum support.” He said

Mr Dantsoho further assured that ACSS as a Secretariat, would not leave any stone unturned in ensuring that Councils Chairmen match words with action to ensure judicious utilisation of monthly allocations for the benefits of all.

“We are not going to be confrontational with them but we will parley together…”

Also, the Director of Administration and finance,  Mrs. Omolola Olanipekun said the Secretariat would not relent in its efforts to preach peaceful coexistence in all the rural communities .

She also disclosed that measures had been put in place to forestall crisis,  especially in the communities where chieftaincy matters were pending. 

According to her, the Secretariat had played and still playing a vital role in resolving the herders and farmers clash at Kwali Area Council; even  as she reliably said chieftaincy tussles in Wako over who succeeds the deceased Paramount ruler had been addressed.
